Following Up on Those Ice Dams

Jan 24, 2019

Ice Dams are something we need to be mindful of all winter long. When we get a lot of snow it is best to rake off the 5′ to 6’ section of your roof after it has stopped snowing to prevent any ice dams from forming. It is very important to keep the bottom of the roof line open, especially in early through mid-winter otherwise this can start to cause serious interior damage.

Below are some before and after images of what your roof should look like when the Ice Dams are cleared and how it should look each time you clear your roof off. This winter maintenance step will help the longevity of your home!
